The University

Western Imperial Medical University is a medical university located in the beautiful country of Antigua and Barbuda. It is our mission to recruit, mold and develop intelligent vibrant minds to become outstanding and progressive Medical Doctors who would make their mark on the world’s stage of medical practitioners. We aim to deliver accredited medical programs that focus on student-centric delivery of curriculum. We aim to improve the global healthcare systems by training well-trained global physician who will perform original research, become holistic doctors, and provide exceptional patient care. All academic programs offered by the University shall be registered/approved by the Antigua and Barbuda National Accreditation Board in due course of time, the process for which has already been initiated.

The Campus

The primary campus is located in Antigua and Barbuda and our clinical campuses are located in USA, UK, and the Caribbean. The Antigua campus is 4-storied building with space for university dorms. The campus is air-conditioned, provides free Wi-Fi, and 24-hour security. Antigua campus has an Anatomy lab with cadavers, online virtual dissection lab, Microbiology lab, Biochemistry lab, and a clinical skills simulation lab. Student life at WIMU provides a holistic experience allowing for personal growth and development, building friendships, and cultivating the habit of life-long self-learning, all of which aim to create ethical and compassionate physicians. Our US clinical sites are located in Chicago (Illinois), Texas, Georgia, and New Jersey. New clinical training sites are added. Our UK clinical site is located in London and the Caribbean clinical site is located in Antigua and Barbuda.

International-Standard MD Program

Depending on the level of education of the students, Western Imperial Medical University Antigua offers a 4-Year and a 5-Year Program for MD in Antigua and Barbuda. The program is an undergraduate program and is equivalent to MBBS. The syllabus of MD Program is based on US medical curriculum and follows the standard of MD in America. Strictly designed as per the requirements of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), MD Program of  Western Imperial Medical University Antigua is comparable to MD in USA and offers aspiring doctors worldwide an opportunity to study medicine in Antigua and Barbuda.

Pre-Medical Program

1-Year Pre-Medical Program introduces students to the basics of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, as applicable to medical sciences as well as to the basic sciences like anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, histology, and medical terminology.

Basic Sciences Program

In 2-Year Basic Sciences Program, students get to the next level of medical sciences and imbibe clinically integrated problem-based learning, conduct their research and experiments in laboratories, and prepare themselves for the clinical rotations.

Clinical Rotations Program

In 2-Year Clinical Rotations Program, students get an exclusive opportunity to get hands-on clinical training in University-affiliated hospitals and clinics, observe fellow doctors and medical practitioners and treat patients under expert guidance.
